PORTLAND'S CABLE TRAMS

Portland Cable trams Inc was established in 1996 and a Cable Dummy was built by volunteers, using the Melbourne design although worked by a diesel engine, coupled to a genuine restored cable tram Trailer.

Passenger service commenced in 2002 offering a round trip of 7.8 K on one of the most scenic tram tracks in Australia.

This DVD covers the history of the line; the building of a Dummy; a total round trip along Henty Beach and the climb to the top of the cliffs passing historical areas. Also a look round the WWII Memorial Lookout Tower and inside the Tram Shed including the Model Railway displays.
